Nipclub, Disco Night!
Nipclub continued the music theme with disco. Sekurity was wearing matching Saturday Night Fever white suits. We looked super swanky!
Moo served the last round as her shift ended and Pearl’s started, with Pearl at the bar, having a drink. I said hello to Moo, so she’d see me.
Angus strolled in, wearing a blindingly shiny and reflective disco-ball suit. It looked great against his black fur. Moo served a disco inferno cocktail with a wedge of fresh pineapple as a garnish. Posh!
Pearl said that there was a big rainstorm headed her way in case she lost power. They could already hear thunder, and the wind was really picking up. There were tornado warnings for the adjacent towns! After finishing work behind the bar, Moo began to leave but came back for a drink and to boogie.
Pearl and I noticed that it was much quieter than usual- no Gator or K-Boi and no Alfie in the DJ booth. Strange!
Angus and I both noticed, so I suggested he go play a few songs until Louis gets in. K-Boi announced his departure, and he had been playing music in Alfie’s place the whole time! D’oh, I didn’t see him. Such as social media.
Gator was on vacation. That explains how quiet it was.
Angus still played a few tunes, such as Donna Summer, and ABBA to fill the gap between K-Boi and Louis’ sets.
DC Kitty, Dominique showed up for a surprise visit. I asked how her sister Eminique was doing. Em was doing fine and was enjoying watching the rain outside today.
Pearl was putting out a tray of layered shots of pretty liqueurs and cupcakes with mini disco balls on them. When Louis arrived, the party truly took off with added music, food, drinks, and excitement. As soon as I heard the opening bars of Chic’s “Le Freak”, I ran out onto the dance floor!
Louis ordered some food, and I hadn’t even looked at the menu. I didn’t realize we had shrimp cocktail! Plus, mini quiches, chicken, even fondue! And pepperoni pizza with edible glitter on it! The sparkle pizza was very good.
Louis was in the house and started off with Earth, Wind, and Fire. Dominique was asking P and Jeego about Lucky2, their cockatiel bird. He comes to Nipclub events on rare occasions.
Louis was spinning the dance tunes, and we’re talking about sparkly pizza and how cats need to watch out for eating weird stuff like plastic bags, tinsel, glitter, poison plants, etc.
They also served champagne cocktails and Swedish meatballs with a huge helping of glitter and disco beats for an even more festive touch! Louis was playing The Brothers Johnson “Stomp!” while we conversed and danced around.
TJS arrived in a sekurity uniform and greeted everyone.
Mizz Bassie had to turn in early; she had an early day tomorrow.
Pearl served cookies paved with glitter, so we are discussing the safety of said silvery, glittery dessert toppings. Apparently, tiny quantities are fine, which is usually the case with cocktails and desserts.
Some young, floofy girl cat was dancing with Angus! We all noticed and asked whether this was a new love interest. He said she just appeared out of nowhere and disappeared! Maybe it was Cinderella. Louis played “Boogie Nights” by Heatwave while we speculated about his possible love interest.
Blueberry swirl cheesecake (sans glitter!) all around as we keep the party going.
Dominique was fading, hugging everyone goodbye. Hopefully we’ll see her again soon!
More music by KC and the Sunshine Band, The Jackson Five, early Prince and more. Pearl had to leave, so I covered until closing. I put out some shrimp cocktails and drinks just as Moo walked in. Angus wanted a dance partner, and Moo obliged him. She’s a superb dancer and loves disco music!
Louis played his last song while I boxed up leftovers for the patrons to take home as it was time to call it a night.
I switched on the neon closed sign, set the alarm, and stepped into the night beneath a waxing gibbous moon. Fun party!
