I am Truman, and I am honored to introduce myself as the Editor-In-Chief of the (relaunched) Anipal Times!
Snick_the_dog and Cokiethecat founded the Anipal Times. They published their first issue in March 2010 and the last issue in 2016. I was an avid reader and felt devastated when it closed, and I dreamed of restarting it several times over the years.
I made an offhand comment about the Anipal Times earlier this year. I thought about the paper for a few hours and then messaged one of my close online friends and asked, “How would you feel about restarting the Anipal Times and running it with me?” He said yes!
He contacted the original publisher. She contacted one of the founders and acted as an intermediary when I asked permission to restart the paper. The founder confirmed I could restart it because the name and concept weren’t trademarked.
I am blessed to have this opportunity to head the legendary Anipal Times. I plan to honor the legacy entrusted to me, and I hope to make the founders proud.
Our goal is to revitalize the newspaper by educating, informing, and entertaining our readers. We plan to increase our online presence in the upcoming year, grow the paper to better serve the anipal community, and establish ourselves as the go-to source for animal news.
I want to convey my sincere gratitude to our fabulous staff, my business partner and tech guru Breeze, and to our readers, who have been eagerly awaiting our relaunch!
