It’s a Bacon party! Everything has bacon in it! And I mean everything! It’s glorious!

I walked into the Nipclub bar wearing my bacon suit and then had to change into my plain clothes bacon sekurity uniform. Moo and Mizz Bassie greeted me. There was a lively conversation going on about hotel bed quality. Moo brought me praline bacon tartlets and a cocktail with a large piece of crispy bacon as garnish.

Later, Pearl served maple bacon cupcakes and caffe lattes to those who needed caffeine. Pearl showed me the small golf course-sized hovercraft she rode in on; it had a giant stack of bacon in the back of it. It was something to behold! It was actually bacon-powered, so it even smelled like bacon (and catnip) outside the bar.

Angel Dominique, a.k.a. DC Kitty made a surprise appearance! She was chatting with everyone, making the rounds. We don’t see her often enough anymore, so it was really nice to catch up. Pearl kept the bacon tartlets, bacon-wrapped grilled shrimp, and champagne bacon cocktails flowing while we caught up.

DC was unaware of Pearl’s new dog plus feline companion. She also didn’t know her beloved ginger cat, Butter, had died. Consequently, more drinks accompanied several Butter anecdotes plus images.

Louis showed up for LATE NITE and asked if anyone was in the DJ booth. I hadn’t seen K-Boi or Sir LongPaw, so there was no music yet. Dominque talked about a newish cat food, Made By Nacho- chef-developed cat food by Bobby Flay. Apparently, it’s very tasty stuff and worth checking out the website!

Louis was in the DJ booth which meant the real LATE NITE party started! Coldplay was the first cut, then Imagine Dragons, and more fun music. TJS arrived and said hello to everyone right as Dominique said goodbye.  We all hoped she would be back again soon!

Angus arrived and Louis hit his musical stride with some Mongolian metal by The Hu (A LATE NITE Nipclub favorite by now). Moo talked about cactus flowers, the monsoon in Jakku, and asked if my humans had any big storms near their home. Moo showed some photos of a trip to Costa Rica, including a photo of an anteater! Wow, it looked so cool!

Pearl was knocking the food out of the park with flaming shots, bacon maple cheesecake, bacon s’mores, lasagna, and fruity cocktails. Angus and Louis chatted about music while Moo showed more tropical wildlife photos while we all drank bacon beer.  Fun times!

Once Pearl’s barktender shift ended and she went home, I stepped in to serve cocktails and potato skins topped generously with bacon and scallions. Louis wound up his set and posted the set list on YouTube. Technology makes it easy to share!

Moo was fading and wanted an escort to her car. Louis, Angus and I were all fading too, so I packaged up some leftover bacon snacks for everyone to enjoy at home this weekend. It was time to go, so I cleaned up, locked up, turned on the closed sign, and headed back to my cloud.

Until next week!

It’s an eclipse party! We’re all wearing special viewing glasses!

I was a little late tonight because of some human-caused thing involving a “networking event”, whatever that is.

Pearl was serving up the sugar group when I walked in and took off my eclipse viewing glasses. Chocolate eclipse niptinis and cake! The gang was there, but Gator was in X-jail for posting too many tweets, but he used an alternate account so he could party with us.

Pearl served deep-fried butter to Mizz Bassie, and I joined in the conversation as I was reluctant to try it; wondering why butter? But humans will deep-fry any food, especially at fairs. If they can fry ice cream, why not butter?

Harvey showed up with his eclipse viewing glasses on, and I asked if he could see the eclipse where he lived.

Gator talked about being in jail back when it was called Twitter and they called jail “Twitmo.“ Pretty funny! In the past, all the Nipclubers that went to jail regularly had alternate accounts with elaborately decorated jail cells.

Gator showed us his cell, but it was pretty plain.

Pearl served eclipsed pepperoni pizza and Black and Tans, which was basically a beer eclipsing! We munched on pizza and talked about Godzilla, trains, and bacon.

I realized LATE NITE had already started, but I hadn’t seen Louis, Angus, or K-Boi. None of the usual suspects. Pearl thought she had seen Angus earlier.

Angus arrived and filled in with some tunes because Louis was running late. “Mississippi Moon” by John Anderson was the first song. Delays seemed characteristic of that night. Gator nor I had heard of this artist before. We just know Jon Anderson of Yes. Pearl had made a tray of colorful exotic fruit cocktails, and I tried the dragon fruit daiquiri. Delicious!

Gator stayed up with us and dug up a classic cover (last week’s theme was bleeding into this week!) from the Dead Kennedys. Angus played another moon-themed song while Louis arrived, just in time, along with TJS’s fly-by greetings. Angus was still playing music; and Louis might also play music! It was awesome!

Moo returned for a short while for LATE NITE to say hello. Gator found another cover song by The Arrows, which was a British band we hadn’t heard of. Wow! Great band! The lead singer is Alan Merrill; the song was “I Love Rock and Roll”, made very famous by Joan Jett! I was mind-blown to find out that Joan Jets version was a cover!

Louis played music again: “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden (one of my favorite songs!), and “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” by George Michael and Elton John; an epic duet. Gator remained to stay up for LATE NITE, and we talked about music.

It seemed LATE NITE was really a music listening party, and we were here for it!

Pearl left the bar with us, so we carried on with the party. It was mostly Angus, Louis, and I playing music. I put out a plate of moon pies for snacks. We were still listening to music, and it was getting late, but I was fading, so I bid my adieus.

Gator, Louis, and Angus kept playing songs longer, and I stepped outside and disappeared behind the moon.

Until next week!

It’s Cover Song Night at Nipclub! Woot Woot!

I arrived to the smell of crispy fried fish, fries, and K-Boi at the bar. Gator, Mizz Bassie, Moo were there, and Moo had saved me some fish and chips.

Unfortunately, K-Boi had some bad news: his sisfur Ragamuffin has cancer and only has a couple of months left. Ragamuffin is a sekurity officer and has the shift right before me. This was devastating news to Nipclub. I gave K-Boi a hug. It started as a hurt paw that didn’t heal. Luckily, she’s on pain medication and at home with family. Everyone gave K-Boi hugs and healing vibes for Ragamuffin.

We hung out, ate fish and chips, and I noticed Sir Pickle Long Paw wasn’t in the DJ booth. Probably just on a break, or maybe he wasn’t working tonight? I couldn’t remember. Sekurity was quiet tonight; we rarely have spam zombies anymore. K-Boi caught one earlier.

It was quiet, too quiet, but almost LATE NITE, so I zipped into the DJ booth and played a song, “Brandy”, a cover of the famous Looking Glass song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Then I played Sergio Mendes and Brazil’ 66 cover of “Fool on the Hill” by The Beetles. Had to keep the bar happy while we got LATE NITE going!

K-Boi was back in the DJ booth. He lined up his setlist and started with Jeff Buckley’s version of “Hallelujah”. Stunning!

Pearl had to leave earlier than normal, so I went behind the bar and worked with Moo making drinks and tacos. K-Boi played some great stuff: Johnny Cash covered a Nine Inch Nails tune, “Hurt”; a Patti Smith cover of “Gloria”, and the Cowboy Junkies cover of the classic “Sweet Jane” by The Velvet Underground.

He programmed 7 hours of music and shared the entire set list; it’s on YouTube!

Louis prepared to play tunes next. First up was a cover of an Elvis song by Robin Lee, and then Bananarama covered “Venus” (that’s not their original song; the original is from 1969, by a Dutch rock band called Shocking Blue), and I served more drinks!

Other than the music, it was pretty quiet! The cats were getting hungry, so I served French onion soup, pretzel bites, and various cocktails. Moo stayed late, and I walked her out to her waiting car. Louis, Angus, K-Boi and I were still there, so I served nightcaps like cognac and tiny blueberry tart desserts. Gotta have snacks when listening to Apocalyptica, Panthera, and Joan Jett covers!

At the end of the evening, I realized Angus, Louis, K-Boi, and I were all black cats and the only cats left. It’s a Void party!

TJS showed up again to say hello. Louis and Angus stayed to close the bar as they had more music to play, and I was getting tired. I walked outside and disappeared into a cloud of black smoke.

Until next week!

Nipclub July 30th, 2026, Sekurity Update by Slinky, @Slinky_the_Cat, Sekurity Agent, Late Nite shift

It’s Shark Week at Nipclub!

I was in my scuba gear and had Bruce, my sekurity sidekick shark to help meowt. Everyone snacked on sharky cupcakes and ice cream with Gummi sharks when I arrived. I greeted Moo, and she talked about all the delicious noms that were on the menu tonight and showed some photos.

Angus waited by the entryway where his usual friends had arrived.

The drinks and food came out; Gator had made shark-shaped pizza, a crudité platter with shark-shaped flatbreads, white chocolate-dipped strawberries with shark teeth and blue frosted details…. Incredible! Nipclub took the shark theme to the nth degree!

Moo shared a beautiful photo of a field full of flowers in Australia, known as red desert peas, Swainsona formosa, for all the plant geeks. Truly spectacular! Attendees admired the flowers, novel to most present and indigenous to South Australia specimens. We don’t have them in Jakku.

Pearl hoped her humans wouldn’t lose power again as a storm approached, so she set out some nachos and more drinks. She hoped for some rain, though. Apparently, there was quite a bit of lightning.

Left Shark memes launched LATE NITE! We love Left Shark at Nipclub. Louis and Angus were ready for LATE NITE; Louis was getting ready in the DJ booth with some watery-themed music, and Angus was ready to dance.

But wait, Sir Pickle Long Paw was going to DJ tonight! What a surprise! We hadn’t seen Sir Pickel for ages. Louis will wait to play music until after Sir P’s set.

Moo returned, then proposed drinks; I responded with a head-butt.

Nipclub trended on X! Pearl noticed it as well.

Sir P played ocean-themed music, and TJS showed up with greetings all around. Pearl served a luscious seafood boil with all the fixings and some flaming violet cocktails. It was sharktastic! We had so much fun!

Pearl headed out, and I took over the bar as usual. Moo was heading out as well, so I gave her a to-go box of noms to take home. Sir Pickle completed his music set, and Louis took over playing music while I served shark-themed drinks and noms. Sir Pickle hung out at the bar with me.

Angus, Louis, and I remained when most friends departed. I made drinks and more pizza. It’s LATE LATE NITE! Shrimp pizza, cocktails, and eventually coffee and cupcakes all around for these diehards!

I stayed until almost midnight this time! Whoa! Three hours of LATE NITE. It might be a record.

Until next week!

Nipclub sekurity July 23 2026

Nipclub July 23rd, 2026, Sekurity Update by Slinky, @Slinky_the_Cat, Sekurity Agent, Late Nite shift

It’s the Experimental Aircraft Association air show tonight for Nipclub!

I had my own tiny police ‘thopter, and I landed it in the parking lot before going into the bar. It was so much fun!

Harvey was there and was wistful, as his family had just lost their ginger kitty, Jack the Ginger Ninja. Paw hugs all around, along with a photo for remembrance. Jack seemed like a wonderful cat.

Most of the usual pals were there: Amber and Precious, Gator, Pearl, etc. I hadn’t seen Moo yet, though! Everyone watched all the cool aircraft take off and land.

Moo arrived just before K-Boi concluded his shift. His humans required an early start after his departure.

With all these cool planes around, I thought I should zip around in my cold-war era Avro Vulcan delta-wing bomber for LATE NITE! So I messaged a crew member to get it ready.

Amber and Precious tried to request a song about Snoopy from Alfie the DJ. Pearl talked about a semi-feral cat they rescued from a colony near their home. When sheltered indoors and attended to, the sickly ginger cat recovered. She shared photos of him; he’s super handsome now.

Pearl served first-class noms and drinks- champagne all around! Amidst champagne consumption and TJS’s conversations with everyone, mechanics tended to my aircraft.

I took it out later for a trip around the field!

Louis incorporated sky and airplane mentions into the playlist; I relaxed while my Avro received approval for its flyover. We were still drinking champagne and listening to the Foo Fighters.

The Avro was sitting on the tarmac, and Angus wanted a ride! With TJS and Gator joining, we donned our gear, crammed into the small cockpit, and lifted off. What a plane! We went so fast and high up; it was jaw-dropping. And so loud!

Pearl was back in the bar serving blue sky donuts while Louis played Tom Petty and Pink Floyd. We’re zooming around in the sky; I fly up, then level out at about 20,000 feet and fly around the field before landing.

Pearl finished her shift right before we landed, so I took over the bar. Mechanics handled the jet’s maintenance and brought it back to its hangar.

I made niptinis and taquitos and then offered some tequila shots.

Louis and Angus played music and lamented about the loss of Ozzy Osbourne a year ago; Gator and I admired the aircraft taking off and landing.

Louis continued songs about flying, and I made lobster mac and cheese. Apparently, it smelled so good, K-Boi woke up,stepped into the bar, and sat down for a snack!

Gator was fading, and even Angus admitted to being tired.

It was getting late, and all that flying made me tired! We played a few more songs before cleaning, boxing leftovers, and securing the bar. What a fun time!

Until next week!

Nipclub sekurity update July 16 2026

Nipclub July 16th, 2026, Sekurity Update by Slinky, @Slinky_the_Cat, Sekurity Agent, Late Nite shift

Nipclub was doing a night kayaking trip with lights in the water and under the boats; it’s called Glow Kayaking!

I dropped by the Nipclub bar, reached via the nearby river, shortly after returning from Mauna Kea’s peak. Moo and Pearl were there to greet me and asked about monsoon rain in Jakku. Pearl served up the sweet treats first: “glownuts”, donuts with neon frosting, and sparkly, glowing shots of something fun to drink.

Angus was there and looked good with his floofy fur growing back after his summer haircut. Moo asked about the different desert landscapes where Pearl and I live and showed us beautiful photos with giant saguaro cacti and storm clouds- definitely a scene from Jakku.

Mizz Bassie arrived, and we talked about well water vs. city water vs. rainwater. Rainwater is magical for plants, especially in the desert during the monsoon!

Angus, kayaking perhaps after consuming too many glow shots, tumbled out of his vessel! Luckily, he was wearing a life vest. He got right back in and was off down the river again!

P and Jeego were out in their glass-bottomed kayak, enjoying the cool evening. Mizz Bassie was also in a cool kayak that looks like it’s lit from within. Grilled salmon steaks and cocktails all around while we continued weather talk and more kayaking.

Gator came back; apparently, he fell asleep. Just in time for LATE NITE! Gator departed soon thereafter because of his humans’ exhaustion from insufficient sleep. He mentioned the fires in Canada and how they are affecting the air where he lives; very hazy and smoky.

Pearl served a special chocolate cake with glow-in-the-dark frosting, and we were excited about how cool everything looked at the party. I mentioned that the cake appeared to have radium frosting, so I passed on the cake.

Mizz Bassie headed out early as her human hadn’t gotten enough sleep either.

LATE NITE was official as soon as Louis started playing his set list. He started off with some Rammstein, so I thought the theme was techno metal, nu metal, etc.

Moo also took off, so I escorted her to her car and went back out onto the dance floor. We talked about music, and Rammstein came up again; someone mentioned the song “Feuer Frei!” It’s the Rammstein song that opened the xXx 2002 action film. Pearl found the video for us to watch in the bar. It was so cool to watch again!

Louis also played Babymetal, a kawaii band from Japan, classic Nightwish, and more eclectic rock music.

Pearl served up blueberry crumble cheesecake and rose’ wine and turned the bar over to me for the last hour. I listened to Louis and Angus Tag team music while I put out a tray of tequila shots and some crispy potato skin appetizers- something savory.

Louis and Angus kept up with music, tipping kayaks, and I served coffee and cookies as a nightcap.

I had to close about 15 minutes early as I can’t always stay up furever! The human had to work early the next day. Louis and Angus probably played music in the parking lot into the wee hours….

Until next week!

Nipclub July 9 2026 sekurity update

Nipclub July 9th, 2026, Sekurity Update by Slinky, @Slinky_the_Cat, Sekurity Agent, Late Nite shift

We’re skydiving tonight!

I jumped out of a plane right into the Nipclub parking lot! It was so cool. A couple of pals were jumping tandem right before I landed.

Alfie was in the DJ booth playing a splendid set of skydiving-themed tunes, including ones by Poly Styrene, Weezer, and Whitsett. Pearl served cookies with parachutes on them and blue sky-colored cocktails when I walked in.

We discussed those dreaded sky zombies, kind of like UAP’s only smaller. I zapped some with my laser!

Ragamuffin showed us her hurt paw, but it seemed survivable and was getting better after a vet trip and some medicine. Mizz Bassie and Angus were here, as well as the usual pals.

More snacks arrived that included little pretzel-bite pigs in a blanket that Gator made earlier, parachute beer, and delicious quesadillas with fresh pico de gallo.

Angus jumped out of a plane and was having a blast! He made about 5 or 6 jumps before LATE NITE started!

Gator experienced X difficulties: reaching a threshold, facing lockout, then regaining access. On and off invisibility! Gator said they’re having a heat wave at their house with high heat and humidity! Sounded awful.

Louis showed up talking about ducks again. It’s time for LATE NITE music about flying, and Louis switched with Alfie for DJ duties. He played more themed songs such as Steve Miller Band, Lenny Kravitz, and Ozzy Osbourne. Louis and Angus, such great friends, chatted about music nonstop in the DJ booth, and they were excited about each musical selection.

TJS showed up on time and greeted everyone.

With Gator still present, music played loudly, while Pearl provided us with cocktails and additional snacks. We enjoyed our conversation concerning music.

4PupDad showed up; we haven’t seen him for ages! What a pleasant surprise!

Gator lamented the loss of the free TweetDeck app when it was easy to pre-program music set lists and see all conversations at the same time. It was cool!

I remember using Hootsuite years ago when it was still free.

More snacks kept coming out of the kitchen: cheesecake cookies and Leap of Faith cocktails! Additional music flowed from many requests, with Louis and Gator contributing their own selections.

I made some song suggestions, and another pal we hadn’t seen for a while showed up, Amber and Precious!

We talked about state fairs with free or cheap concerts, the majestic Frisian horses, and other attractions at fairs such as SummerFest and the California State Fair in Sacramento. The free live music shows were the best.

After Pearl went home, I served Aviation cocktails and more pretzel piggies to the LATE NITE diehard crew. It seems like we never sleep!

The falling from the sky theme just kept going. They took the theme to the nth degree with Joe Satriani’s “Surfing with the Alien,” REM’s “Fall On Me,” and Patsy Cline’s “I Fall to Pieces,” and we were there for it!

Moo, Gator, Angus, Louis, and TJS were still there, and I was getting ready to wind it down, but the rest wanted to keep partying! I asked Gator or TJS if they could lock up this time.

I walked outside and floated away as they kept it going for another hour.

Until next week!

Area 51 party tonight! We know the truth is out there!

Sekurity dressed just like the actors in Men in Black. Gator and 21 others were already in the bar, drinking and carousing. Jeego and P were talking about Seafair (a traditional Seattle summer festival) and a July 4th fireworks display! Humans remembered it back in the day as mainly boat races and fireworks. Hydroplane races were the coolest. It was always a great time that created wonderful memories.

Mizz Bassie and Gator were here, and Gator showed off a photo of his new buddy, Koda the Catahoula mix dog. He’s very handsome! We watched the sky, and I looked for suspicious activity. So far, I’d seen orbs flying around the bar outside.

Pearl served grilled salmon and alien shot drinks inspired by the film Alien. She made me a plate as I downed a Xenomorph blood cocktail shot and went outside. I looked for evidence of any close encounters, such as crop circles or tiny grey creatures running around.

I saw some cows beaming up, so I zapped the ships with my sekurity laser, and they let the cows go, gently letting them land on the ground again before lumbering off. The ships sped away, leaving no trace. At least the cows were unharmed.

Back in the bar, I finished my salmon, and Louis announced an alien and UFO-themed playlist! Time to kick off LATE NITE the Area 51 way!

Pearl served flying saucer pasta and purple butter and some superb green cocktails in sparkly glasses. Louis was in the DJ booth and started off with a cover of Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm! It’s a ‘90s classic! He played fun music such as The Steve Miller Band and Black Sabbath, while we ate space burgers with crazy cocktails!

We danced like crazy while Louis and Angus kept up the tunes. I had a song request, a ska song by an obscure band, and Louis found it! Martian Girl! by the Aquabats. I requested another song, Goo Goo Muck by The Cramps, to mix things up, and Louis played it. He had not heard of it before!

Pearl left, which left me in control of the bar until closing. More music such as Jefferson Starship and Rob Zombie, while I served alien green cocktails and green tea eggs that looked like alien pods, plus lobster mac and cheese, as you must have some normal-looking food sometimes!

Louis played alien-themed songs interspersed with a few patriotic songs to celebrate the upcoming 250 Years of Independence. TJS showed up again towards the end of LATE NITE for some dancing. We wound it down with dessert: red velvet cake-cheesecake squares with fresh blueberries in anticipation of this holiday weekend, with some Irish coffee shots.

I set everyone up with to-go bags of alien cookies, cheesecake squares, and other snacks and sent them on their way before I set the alarm, locked up, and tipped my hat toward our alien friends in the skies.

Until next week!

It was Sergeant Pepper’s theme night!

The FIFA game between the USA and Turkey was on the big screen in the bar! Pearl had fun red drinks and cookies shaped like vinyl records set out as I arrived. Goooaoooooolllllllll! USA scored again! Woot Woot!

Moo wanted to celebrate with a drink at the bar after she finished her shift. Paraguay and Australia had also played today.

Pearl and I talked about the weather as usual: rain at my human’s home, and some hail, too! Jeego sent us some smoked salmon from the Pacific Northwest, so Pearl sliced it up and served it to everyone. FIFA’s extensive games, team rivalries, and overall complexity proved difficult for us to comprehend. We pulled up a huge chart of the teams, and it just confused us more.

The UK experienced extreme heat, reported Harvey, while Turkey secured victory over the USA. Oh, well. We had more food and stronger drinks after that match!

Angus, Louis, and I started LATE NITE, and the whole point of the party is The Beatles’ Seargeant Pepper album, so we listened to The Beatles’ music until we closed! LATE NITE centers on music. Louis and Angus tried to figure out what to play.

I realized no one had seen Gator, and Pearl wasn’t sure if he had arrived or if he was shadow banned again. We looked around and figured he left after making all the food! Gator had made gorgeous cupcakes with tiny buttercream yellow submarines on them.

Delightful!

Out came the purple cocktails, and we danced to retro Beatles’ songs! Some songs, like those by Lenny Kravitz, stood out.

Pearl served an incredible peanut butter cheesecake with Reese’s peanut butter cups and chocolate ganache. It was like creamy, dreamy candy. The music was fun and nostalgic, and the drinks were flowing! Conversations about music began: should we select additional Beatles tracks, or introduce variety with other artists? I suggested early Beatles and maybe a few British Invasion songs.

Pearl left the bar to me, so I helped with food and beverages for another hour. Someone mentioned bangers and mash after I asked if anyone wanted noms, so I served a delicious British Isles favorite dinner.

Anyway, it turned into a British Invasion music festival with some added stout and Strawberry Fields Forever cocktails. We had so much fun dancing and we listened to The Rolling Stones, Traffic, Dusty Springfield, The Raspberries, etc. Louis and I talked while he was in the DJ booth, and I mixed drinks and set out desserts for the diehard LATE NITE crew.

We had fun, and we stayed up very late, 1-1/2 hours after Pearl left! It might have been a record. Music made us forget what time it was!

Until next week!

Game and fish night? We’ve gone fishing!

I had a squad car, a nifty uniform, and I checked fishing licenses. Gator, Pearl, Jeego, and the usual crowd were there, and Moo had just finished her barktending shift, so she will return later.

I had to check Jeego’s fishing license as she had a huge golden fish. Is that legal? Pearl served Hamm’s beer and custom ‘gone fishing’ cookies while I questioned Jeego. She said, “No license,” so I blew my whistle and ran after her.

Jeego ran off while Gator asked if cats could fish without a license. I said, “Not in this park!” I wrote Jeego a ticket, but Jeego had disappeared! I figured she wouldn’t hide for very long, especially when we started grilling all the fish that we’d legally caught.

Pearl served up some salmon Gator made; butterflied, grilled and served with lemon slices and ocean-blue cocktails with candy fish floating in them.

Mizz Bassie showed up. Everyone was busily chatting; I couldn’t keep up as I had to go out and patrol the park.

Raven showed up and said something about her human rinsing hair dye out of her hair. Sounds like a typical human thing to do, dyeing their fur!

Jeego still lurked about, and Pearl served blackened fish with lemon and butter, with a selection of wines. TJS arrived and LATE NITE started on time. We drank wine and snarfed down buttery fish.

Bunty showed up; haven’t seen him for ages! He’s a major in the Zombie Squad, ZSHQ. Louis arrived and negotiated with Angus for DJ booth rights and playlists for LATE NITE.

Chefs in the Nipclub kitchens prepared a special dessert, maple pecan sourdough pudding cake à la mode! Wow meow! Oh, and flying fish-flavored beer. No, wait! Flying Fish brand lemon-flavored beer!

We danced to goth symphonic metal music (Nightwish), served up by Louis in the DJ booth! We all danced! However, Louis had a counterpoint music set with Jimmy Buffett songs! What a contrast! I couldn’t wrap my head around it. Louis found some techno with throat singing that was mind-blowing! I’m a new fan of Ummet Ozcan! Louis killed it with the more obscure music, such as Lacuna Coil, and in a total counterattack, Angus played Christopher Cross, “Sailing!” Then Nightwish vs. another Christopher Cross song. It was the weirdest musical combination I’d ever witnessed.

After Pearl went home, I made some blue drinks in fish-shaped tumblers and smoked salmon canapés. Then I caught Angus fishing illegally, so I wrote him a ticket. As I gave it to him, I mentioned paying a fine, and he asked what it was: Could he pay $5 or could he clean up the bar? Angus tried to get out of the fine and tried to convince me he could sing for his supper. No way; clean up or sign up for the 16-hour online course about fishing rules and etiquette. Gator asked if there was a test, and Angus considered his options.

Louis went back into the DJ booth and played a few rock songs by Ghost and Rob Zombie. He played a classic Rob Zombie tune, “Dracula,” to close out the night.

Moo showed up for a final nightcap and snack, and I escorted her to her car and closed down the bar. I never found Jeego again, so I’ll mail the ticket or save it until next week!

Until next week!
