Nipclub October 15th, 2026, Sekurity Update by Slinky, @Slinky_the_Cat, Sekurity Agent, Late Nite shift
Nipclub had a Southern Rock Night!
We trended on X for about 2 hours before my shift. That was crazy! K-boi had just finished a great music set when I walked in. Allman Brothers, Southern Culture on the Skids, Little Feat, Marshall Tucker Band… classics!
Moo had the Jack and cokes lined up!
Alfie was the next DJ and continued the musical theme with a pre-programmed set. There were a few sports games on, so sometimes the party slowed down, and Seattle was playing, so P & Jeego were excited.
Pearl started her shift with sweet tea cocktails and cookies. Mizz Bassie said Armani was better, and the weather was cooling down in their area. Pearl recalled that recently, Astro the cat chased some low-flying sandhill cranes that flew over her home! Mizz Bassie says after big rains, she has ibis, egrets and ducks near her home.
Louis stopped by and said hello a bit earlier than usual.
Pearl broke out the excellent southern fare: catfish with shrimp and grits and catnip juleps. Angus was there too, and several cats said their humans were tired from staying up late last night. K-Boi had a fundraiser for a pet rescue going on, so I shared the link.
Pearl mentioned having house guests, and so did Angus. His guests were staying a whole month! We all agreed that’s normally too long. I asked if he had an antics lineup to cause the human to shorten their stay.
Barfing on command is a true superpower!
Angus’ guest sounded very nice though, buying groceries and cat treats! That’s the guest we love to have stay over!
Dueling DJs Angus and Louis ushered in LATE NITE and started off playing Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gimme Three Steps, The Doobie Brothers with Black Water, ZZ Top La Grange, etc.
It was time to party!
Pearl whipped up chicken fried steak with gravy and whisky cocktails while we continued talking about guests that are worth a longer stay- they cook, they bring Champagne and are low-maintenance.
Angus and Louis were talking about how pretty their moms were when they were younger while CCR was playing Proud Mary. Very fitting! Shout out to all the humoms that take care of us!
Pearl served dessert: buttermilk chess pie and whiskey shots. The music played as Pearl decided she was too tired to stay longer, so I took over the bar. While she was leaving, she mentioned how much food we had, so I put out the BBQ combo platters and some Jack Daniel’s shots!
While George Thorogood was playing, I mixed up a pitcher of Sazeracs, which is the official cocktail of NOLA. K-boi stopped by again and asked if we were still up, so I offered him some BBQ and a Sazerac. He helped himself and grabbed a pitcher of beer and a glass.
I was interested in hearing something by Chris Stapleton, so I put in a song request.
I served classic pecan pie to everyone who wanted some. Apparently, it’s one of Louis’s and my mom’s favorite pie! I mentioned chocolate pecan pie, and Louis hadn’t heard of it. Louis was playing his last song, and I requested an encore, ZZ Top’s Sharp Dressed Man, as it’s basically a tuxie anthem!
As a nightcap, I poured cute, layered dessert shots. I put together some boxes with leftover BBQ, cornbread and greens, plus more pecan pie to go for everyone to take home.
I set the alarm, locked it up and walked out with a box of yummy BBQ.
Until next week!
