Nipclub Autumn Leaves Viewing Party!

I hurried into the bar just in time, where Moo tempted me with a whiskey sour and delicious baked Brie in pastry. I realized I hadn’t changed into my Sekurity uniform, so I disappeared for a few minutes to go change into our tan uniforms with the park ranger hats.

Gator walked in muttering something about a lack of meteors.

Pearl was having a snack before her shift started. The baked brie was very popular!

Gator said the Draconid shower was active, and peak viewing occurred early evening, yet he saw nothing. Very disappointed.

Gator likes to keep up with all matters astronomical.

Mizz Bassie walked in, so I asked about Armani. Mizz Bassie said Armani was back to his old self despite still trying to dial in the insulin.

Pearl said hello to everyone before going behind the bar.

Gator talked about dark sky areas for seeing meteors and shooting stars, and Moo piped up and mentioned they have dark skies where she lives in Australia; they exist in Jakku as well. It’s fairly dark where Pearl is, so she can observe a large part of the night sky.

Pearl’s animals are all good, and the new orange kitty is getting bigger. They must have gotten him while he was still a kitten.

Angus was there and mentioned he had a hurricane warning at his house. We all wished him and his humans safety. He’s near the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, so hopefully it won’t be too bad.

We’re all praying for our pals in Florida. 

Pearl served Autumn Ale beer, warm apple cider shots, and butternut squash bruschetta to everyone while we worried about the hurricanes. Pearl shared a photo of her Ember, a fluffy orange cat. I waved to P and Jeego while Mizz Bassie spoke to them.

Angus showed off his new fall wardrobe: a snappy plaid vest and a woven muffler in warm oranges and brown tones. Purrfect with all the pretty autumn leaves!

We admired pictures of Angus and Louis’ various costumes, and a few images of Louis and his late tabby brofur Heath. Heath was a legend! 

Pearl poured the shots while Louis and Angus discussed playing some music. We were ready to party, LATE NITE style!

Louis started us off with Barry Manilow’s “Weekend in New England,” and Chicago’s “Color my World,” for some easy autumn vibes.

Pearl served more food: pizza with ricotta, sun-dried tomato, squash, and fresh sage, plus more drinks. The pizza was incredible! There is something about a wood-fired pizza oven. 

Louis changed it up with rock music from In Living Color, “Cult of Personality.” What a great jam!

TJS was here and greeted everyone while we danced around the bar.

The Bangles “Hazy Shade of Winter” played while we drank and had fun while Pearl brought out a ginormous apple crumble pie cheesecake! After that, Pearl went home, and I stepped behind the bar for LATE LATE NITE.

Louis was still playing music while I served hot buttered rum drinks. Moo announced she had to go, so I walked her out to the black SUV with a box of snacks and a sippy cup with hot buttered rum for her to drink on the way home.

Kira showed up. What a pleasant surprise! We hadn’t seen her for over a year, maybe longer. I offered more snacks to everyone and asked about some other friends we hadn’t seen for a while. 

Louis was still playing music, and I served some baked Brie pastries and cocktails. It was getting very late.

Amber and Precious popped in and out, announced they were leaving, so I prepared delicious leftovers for them to take.

Louis played his last song and posted his playlist. Only a few of us left! I poured the cognac before cleaning up the bar. There were a few stragglers.

I cleaned up, set out some snacks to go, set the alarm, and walked outside to my waiting helicopter. The air was crisp, cool, and it smelled like autumn!

Oct. 1 was Pumpkin Spice Day! Who knew? And it was already everywhere!

Gator was calling out the next shift’s staff just as I arrived, right on time. Moo greeted me with maple pecan pumpkin spice ice cream and pumpkin spice pancakes. I whispered and asked if she had anything that wasn’t pumpkin spice flavored.

Mizz Bassie arrived and greeted everyone; there were already 24 pals at the bar, including DJ K-Boi!

Pearl arrived for her shift and served pumpkin sammich cookies and some kind of orange-colored pumpkin-flavored beverage. Gator said it had rained at his house, as well as the huge rainstorm at Pearl’s home. Jakku had a lot of rain on Tuesday. It was epic; the storm was the dregs from cyclone Polo!

It seems like cooler weather is showing up for many now.

Hooray for autumn!

Mizz Bassie said Armani was doing better, but they’re still trying to get the insulin dose dialed in. Pearl’s new rescue kitty, Mr. Man, was doing well; she shared a photo of the orange boi relaxing.

TJS showed up early and greeted everyone. 

Pearl served pumpkin wine along with fresh lobster over a bed of pumpkin risotto. I thought I would try it, as it at least sounded savory. The pumpkin wine sounded atrocious, though.

George the Duck showed up and hugged everyone. It was nice to catch up since we hadn’t seen him in a long time.

Jerry the Tuxedo showed up as well! It seemed like a million years since we’d seen him!

Pearl served more noms: pumpkin spice lasagna and dirty niptinis. I took the drink but passed on the lasagna. Then Pearl came over a few minutes later with my niptini and a pumpkin-shaped pepperoni pizza.

No pumpkin spice in sight!

It was heavenly! Mizz Bassie smelled the delicious pizza and grabbed a slice.

Angus and Louis arrived for LATE NITE tag team DJing as usual.

Pearl talked to Gator about a new Nipclub theme idea; she said that Oct. 20th is Cryptid Day! Gator said he had themes for the rest of the year but on Oct. 29th it is a monster movie theme, so maybe combine the two? I mentioned kaiju (Japanese monsters) to Pearl and Gator. We all agreed that more monsters would be good.

The music was playing, and we were all having a great time. Louis was playing autumnal music, including Frank Sinatra and Smashing Pumpkins, while Gator and I talked about various past Godzilla avatars while Pearl served some kind of pumpkin spice latte Jell-O shot monstrosity.

I just sipped my icy-cold dirty niptini, oblivious to the pumpkin spice all around me. 

Moo came back while Pearl made cocktails free of pumpkin flavor or spice, so I took one and gestured for Moo to join me at the bar. Right after that, Pearl left for home, and I took over the bar, secretly knowing I would serve nothing with pumpkin spice. It will be my secret.

I served some Negroni cocktails (they’re at least orange-colored) and lobster mac and cheese while Gator and I talked about kaiju films like War of the Gargantuas.

Louis talked about a spooky music playlist and shared various ideas with us. Gator and I added a few songs to his list while I served more snacks, and he played more tunes. Louis played October by U2 as the last song while I served jalapeño poppers wrapped with prosciutto as we talked about going to out-of-town concerts.

 Gator noted Nipclub was trending on X; Angus said we were trending as well! Awesomeness! We were all getting tired, so I offered noms to take home and to-go cups for the drinks.

It’s Nipclub, so we can do what we want!

We all talked a bit about live music and clearly, everyone was fading so we called it and put out the “We’re Closed” neon sign.

Time to head out.

It’s Blues Night!

We celebrated with splendid music, southern food, and when I arrived, K-Boi was spinning the classic Delta blues in the DJ booth. Moo greeted me at the door with a plate of sticky Memphis-style BBQ ribs, grilled corn, and hot, salty fries! Plus, there were grits with fried catfish as well. Wow, meow, everything smelled so good and tasted even better!

Moo showed everyone gorgeous photos of the Australian beach near her home and mentioned seeing whales and dolphins on her beach. Pearl let us know another storm might hit, so if she disappeared, she had lost power. That pesky hurricane coming up from Mexico!

Mizz Bassie was there, and she told us that Armani the cat was doing so much better on a different insulin dose. Hooray! Pearl asked me if my humans had received any hurricane remnants, and the storm hit the east side of the county today but did not affect their home.

Moo wanted to share a drink with me before leaving for a while because her human had to go shopping.

We sat at the bar.

Someone mentioned coyotes, and earlier that evening, my human heard them very close to the house making all kinds of yipping noises and yelled out the window to “Shut up!”. It worked! Apparently, Gator’s human has done the same thing!

Pearl served noms like jambalaya and whiskey cocktails. We were still talking about coyotes, wildlife encounters, and trail cams.

Pearl mentioned the tarantula migration, which sounded crazy! But she thinks it’s just males out looking for females, so it was just mating season.

K-Boi played music earlier, so Angus showed up and Louis jumped in the booth for LATE NITE. Pearl served delightful grilled peaches. Louis started out by playing Stevie Ray Vaughan and George Thorogood. I requested Son House and Louis played Dead Letter Blues for me!

Pearl said there was hail nearby and mentioned how it destroys solar panels and plants, and that trailer parks seem to attract tornadoes! Louis played Jailhouse Rock by Elvis while we talked about hailstorms and dimpled cars.

Mizz Bassie took off to take care of Armani.

Louis played Etta James while Pearl served up bourbon bread pudding with butterscotch sauce and ice cream. Decadence!

Pearl and I kept talking about the weather when haboobs came up. Louis believed “haboob” was a fabricated word! I showed him a photo of one that hit Phoenix last summer. It appeared massive, like a scene from a movie! Time for more noms, shrimp Po’ boys and some delta red wine for all!

And a potent drink for Louis since he had trouble comprehending the haboob photo.

Pearl needed to take off for the evening, leaving me in the bar. Louis mentioned his daddy makes Cajun spaghetti, so Gator and I wanted to know more about that! We breathlessly waited for the recipe details. Gator even brought out napkins and spoons! I started cooking and Gator poured the wine.

Moo appeared just in time for a nightcap and some Cajun spaghetti. Moo told us it was afternoon tea for her, as I forgot about the time change from Australian to Jakku.

Gator, Louis, and I were still at the bar until late, and we chatted about food, haboobs, and music. Gator had a few last songs to play after Louis finished his set list, and I put some Po’ boys into bags for everyone to take home.

Gator and I closed it up and followed Louis out the door.

Arrrggg! ‘Tis our yearly Talk Like a Pirate Nipclub bash on Sept.17!

Me vessel, The Dead Reckoning, set sail fer the Nipclub party tavern two days past, now I be finally arrivin’. Moo was servin’ rum drinks to all when I landed.

Gator and P and Jeego be here, and Pearl had come to spin a yarn o’ the great storm that hit her last night, with another brewin’ her way! She showed us the charts, and we spied the ominous clouds through a spyglass!

Pearl was servin’ fresh boiled crabs and rum drinks to all while we fretted over the next storm that might strike her abode. She said the catio be full o’ water.

Mizz Bassie said Armani the cat be home and improvin’ but still shy o’ eatin’. Gator had vanished fer a spell and come back; he drank too much rum and nodded off a few times already!

Angus spotted deviled eggs on the pirate party menu, and I couldn’t believe pirates would eat fancy spiced eggs, with spices from the far east! Gator says everythin’ be delivered to ships these days, using Ship Dash!

Mizz Bassie guessed pirates would eat near anythin’, and I surely planned to try whatever grub be there; even if it be the dreaded fancy spiced eggs!;

Pearl was frettin’ over the storm as the wind had picked up; in fact, she had to leave afore LATE NITE started as she feared losin’ power. Gator and Mizz Bassie have had rain too in recent days; seems to be pourin’ everywhere!

Gator be still here; Louis be talkin’ up his set list and Angus wants to play music too. I heard K-Boi might show up as well.

I be fillin’ in fer Pearl, and hopefully her house be still standin’ come morn. Louis was playin’ pirate tunes and sea shanties, and I’m servin’ rum and more fresh crab.

Gator brought out the custom Nipclub tankards, both plain everyday ones and extra shiny fancy ones! Gator also crafted a giant plank o’ delicious charcuterie with fresh shrimp, and it be epic!

Pearl returned from swabbin’ the deck but might’ve had to head back if the waves rise any higher at her digs! I was servin’ Black Pearl cocktails and vittles, and K-boi showed up! The fine rum drinks be flowin’, and we’re all havin’ a jolly time.

Pearl left again for good; she was fair tuckered out.

I’m servin’ fresh oyster treats and fine rum straight while Gator and I chat about Danny Elfman and his tunes, Oingo Boingo shows, and such. Moo came back, and I served her some fresh oysters.

TJS showed up as usual, near the end of the shindig.

Gator and I be still up talkin’; Louis and Angus faded away early. Or maybe it weren’t early—we just lost track of time.

I started servin’ hot buttered rum nightcaps and warnin’ folks about fallin’ off the dock. Angus reappeared, and Gator gladly savored a hot drink while I cleaned up the galley. After closin’ the bar, I sailed off toward the straits on me ghost ship, The Dead Reckoning.

It’s the Nipclub Tiki luau pawty time! We’ve got tiki torches, pupu platters, and tropical drinks! Sekurity has matching aloha shirts.

K-Boi and Pearl were talking about baby snakes and the movie “Snakes on a Plane” when I walked in. Moo enticed me with delicious luau noms, and Gator talked about the beautiful weather at his house, which is a sign that fall is on its way!

Mizz Bassie said her cat Armani was at the vet because he has diabetes, so we sent healing vibes. Poor thing!

Pearl served flaming tiki cocktails and pineapple upside-down cake to get us started. Deliciousness! Now, more snacks- a large pupu platter with tiny hibachis featuring coconut shrimp, kalua pork sliders, shumai dumplings, chicken wings… I wasn’t sure what the tiny hibachi was for, but it looked cool. Pearl didn’t know what it was for, either.

 DC Kitty Dominique showed up for a visit. Raven was there, as were P and Jeego, Angus, etc. We munched on coconut shrimp, spam and pineapple kabobs, and drank meowjitos. Dominique had a heatwave; Gator had cooler weather while Mizz Bassie, Raven and Pearl talked about cats interacting with lizards. Moo was still there, and we shared drinks. 

It was time for LATE NITE and Angus was ready to party! Louis picked out records to play while Mizz Bassie had to leave early because she wants to get up early tomorrow to visit Armani at the vet. Louis was in the booth playing the Hawaii Five-O theme song! Sweet and nostalgic.

The LATE NITE party started with shredded kalua pork, catnip pineapple rum drinks in fish-shaped bowls, and we danced to sea shanties!

K-boi showed up again to say hello.

Pearl was still dishing up the delicious pupus and devastatingly strong Mai Tai drinks in whole coconuts.

The tiki torches were glowing, and we did the limbo! I sent Louis a song request, Tiki Torches at Twilight by David Lindley- the most purrfect song for the party, in my opinion!

TJS showed up for his usual drive-by hellos.

Time for pineapple upside-down cheesecake, and more rum drinks. We decided we all needed to call a Lyft to get home! 

Louis asked what Spam musubi was once Pearl left, so I made some for him. It’s like sushi, but with Spam! We discussed nori (seaweed) placement either inside or outside the sushi, and then it was limbo time! Time to limbo down to the music. After a few more zombies and mai tais with catnip, we were getting loopy.

K-boi showed up for the late – night spam sushi discussion (Salmon roe was one of his favorite things!). Louis felt trepidation about trying raw fish (is he a real cat)?

Harvey arrived as we were closing, so I packed him a generous to-go box of pupus and luau noms, plus a drink to take along.

To-go boxes for all! It’s time to lock up and leave!

Nipstock/Catnipalooza 2026!

Nipstock/Catnipalooza’s debut year has finished, and I couldn’t be more proud!

It was four days of nip, music, food and fun!

I planned this for some time. Knowing Nipfest’s end last year, I foresaw the need for August Twitter activities! This was not to replace anything or anyone. Nipfest inspired me, of course, but this was something completely different! I thought that combining live DJ sets, events, and food was an original idea for Twitter.

I feel like I had the BEST team helping me plan! Nipstock never gets off the ground with everyone that helped me plan, made pics and volunteered 4 days of their time! Too many to name one by one, but i love and cherish everyone of you.

Is year two forthcoming? There absolutely will be! We are already planning for 2027 with a new theme and everything!

So long as I am present and folks wish revelry for summer’s conclusion, #Nipstock #Catnipalooza remains!

It’s the Nipclub North Pole summer cool-off trip!

Me and my trusty malamute sled dog, Keith, stopped at the Nipclub pawty bar to warm ourselves up! Moo was serving blood orange tequila cocktails and smash burgers, so I asked for a drink and burger for both Keith and I. We were enjoying our burgers in the bar when Gator, P & Jeego, and Pearl were all chatting loudly about growing cauliflower and green beans in the garden.

Time to switch barktenders, with Moo off and Pearl on shift. Pearl served some polar bear paw cookies and hot cocoa, starting us off with the sweets. Time for dessert!

Surprise! Sir Pickle Longpaw was there. I hadn’t seen him for ages! Harvey was also there. He talked about an arts and crafts show (a 50-year-old annual event) this weekend that sounded fun.

We discussed cauliflower and whether it grows wild or if humans created the vegetable. Harvey researched and found that Mediterranean farmers have cultivated cauliflower from wild cabbage for thousands of years. I wondered aloud how brilliant these farmers were to make a veg that can mimic a chicken wing when battered, deep-fried, and covered with buffalo sauce! Harvey thought that was pretty funny. 

Pearl served delicious king crab leg sammiches and snow martinis. Keith loves the crab, so I gave him a sammich. Next up was crab rangoon and more snow cocktails. I threw crab rangoon dumplings at Keith, and he caught them in his mouth. He’s a cool dog.

The gardening conversation continued with Gator, Mizz Bassie, and Pearl talking about insects on plants like aphids, ants, spiders, etc.

Angus and Louis were there and talked about playing music for LATE NITE. Louis shared a photo of a yellow and blue macaw his human saw at a baseball game. It was apparently a friendly parrot named Clarice! There were a few Silence of the Lambs jokes, of course.

Louis started off with ice and snow-themed songs like Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice! We hadn’t heard this song for ages! Then he played Van Halen’s cover of Ice Cream Man, Freeze Frame by J. Giles Band, and some songs by Elton John, Vangelis, etc.! 

We kept circling back to gardening and insect stories. Gator mentioned an interesting experience in a big-box store in the linens department where his human encountered an orb-weaver spider amongst the pillowcases.

An escapee from the garden department?

Then we all started talking about creepy-crawler encounters in cars, outside, in shipping boxes, grocery stores… the horrors!

Time for strong drinks!

Pearl had a big storm heading her way. She had to lock down the house and put out a few sandbags, so she left the bar. We all wished her a safe evening.

There was more music, snow martinis, snacks and music, dancing and much silliness! I served up real snow martinis and more crab rangoon with nuoc cham dipping sauce. TJS showed up, of course, to say hello. Keith loves crab in any form!

Wow, the conversation was all over the place: all the bug talk led to The Wrath of Kahn film, tribbles, and then the British comedy/ car geek TV show, Top Gear. Louis hadn’t heard some British slang terms that popped up. There were a lot of giggles!

I served panna cotta with coffee, and we continued talking about various topics. Gator and I stayed a bit later and talked about recipes for wonderful custard desserts and fresh lemon confections from the Amalfi coast of Italy. It all sounded so good!

We were getting so tired, so it was time to lock it up!

Nipclub August 20, 2026: Sekurity Update

It’s a Bacon party! Everything has bacon in it! And I mean everything! It’s glorious!

I walked into the Nipclub bar wearing my bacon suit and then had to change into my plain clothes bacon sekurity uniform. Moo and Mizz Bassie greeted me. There was a lively conversation going on about hotel bed quality. Moo brought me praline bacon tartlets and a cocktail with a large piece of crispy bacon as garnish.

Later, Pearl served maple bacon cupcakes and caffe lattes to those who needed caffeine. Pearl showed me the small golf course-sized hovercraft she rode in on; it had a giant stack of bacon in the back of it. It was something to behold! It was actually bacon-powered, so it even smelled like bacon (and catnip) outside the bar.

Angel Dominique, a.k.a. DC Kitty made a surprise appearance! She was chatting with everyone, making the rounds. We don’t see her often enough anymore, so it was really nice to catch up. Pearl kept the bacon tartlets, bacon-wrapped grilled shrimp, and champagne bacon cocktails flowing while we caught up.

DC was unaware of Pearl’s new dog plus feline companion. She also didn’t know her beloved ginger cat, Butter, had died. Consequently, more drinks accompanied several Butter anecdotes plus images.

Louis showed up for LATE NITE and asked if anyone was in the DJ booth. I hadn’t seen K-Boi or Sir LongPaw, so there was no music yet. Dominque talked about a newish cat food, Made By Nacho- chef-developed cat food by Bobby Flay. Apparently, it’s very tasty stuff and worth checking out the website! 

Louis was in the DJ booth which meant the real LATE NITE party started! Coldplay was the first cut, then Imagine Dragons, and more fun music. TJS arrived and said hello to everyone right as Dominique said goodbye.  We all hoped she would be back again soon!

Angus arrived and Louis hit his musical stride with some Mongolian metal by The Hu (A LATE NITE Nipclub favorite by now). Moo talked about cactus flowers, the monsoon in Jakku, and asked if my humans had any big storms near their home. Moo showed some photos of a trip to Costa Rica, including a photo of an anteater! Wow, it looked so cool! 

Pearl was knocking the food out of the park with flaming shots, bacon maple cheesecake, bacon s’mores, lasagna, and fruity cocktails. Angus and Louis chatted about music while Moo showed more tropical wildlife photos while we all drank bacon beer.  Fun times! 

Once Pearl’s barktender shift ended and she went home, I stepped in to serve cocktails and potato skins topped generously with bacon and scallions. Louis wound up his set and posted the set list on YouTube. Technology makes it easy to share!

Moo was fading and wanted an escort to her car. Louis, Angus and I were all fading too, so I packaged up some leftover bacon snacks for everyone to enjoy at home this weekend. It was time to go, so I cleaned up, locked up, turned on the closed sign, and headed back to my cloud.

It’s an eclipse party! We’re all wearing special viewing glasses!

I was a little late tonight because of some human-caused thing involving a “networking event”, whatever that is.

Pearl was serving up the sugar group when I walked in and took off my eclipse viewing glasses. Chocolate eclipse niptinis and cake! The gang was there, but Gator was in X-jail for posting too many tweets, but he used an alternate account so he could party with us.

Pearl served deep-fried butter to Mizz Bassie, and I joined in the conversation as I was reluctant to try it; wondering why butter? But humans will deep-fry any food, especially at fairs. If they can fry ice cream, why not butter?

Harvey showed up with his eclipse viewing glasses on, and I asked if he could see the eclipse where he lived.

Gator talked about being in jail back when it was called Twitter and they called jail “Twitmo.“ Pretty funny! In the past, all the Nipclubers that went to jail regularly had alternate accounts with elaborately decorated jail cells. 

Gator showed us his cell, but it was pretty plain.  

Pearl served eclipsed pepperoni pizza and Black and Tans, which was basically a beer eclipsing! We munched on pizza and talked about Godzilla, trains, and bacon.

I realized LATE NITE had already started, but I hadn’t seen Louis, Angus, or K-Boi. None of the usual suspects. Pearl thought she had seen Angus earlier.

Angus arrived and filled in with some tunes because Louis was running late. “Mississippi Moon” by John Anderson was the first song. Delays seemed characteristic of that night. Gator nor I had heard of this artist before. We just know Jon Anderson of Yes. Pearl had made a tray of colorful exotic fruit cocktails, and I tried the dragon fruit daiquiri. Delicious!

Gator stayed up with us and dug up a classic cover (last week’s theme was bleeding into this week!) from the Dead Kennedys. Angus played another moon-themed song while Louis arrived, just in time, along with TJS’s fly-by greetings. Angus was still playing music; and Louis might also play music! It was awesome!

Moo returned for a short while for LATE NITE to say hello. Gator found another cover song by The Arrows, which was a British band we hadn’t heard of. Wow! Great band! The lead singer is Alan Merrill; the song was “I Love Rock and Roll”, made very famous by Joan Jett! I was mind-blown to find out that Joan Jets version was a cover!

Louis played music again: “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden (one of my favorite songs!), and “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” by George Michael and Elton John; an epic duet. Gator remained to stay up for LATE NITE, and we talked about music.

It seemed LATE NITE was really a music listening party, and we were here for it!

Pearl left the bar with us, so we carried on with the party. It was mostly Angus, Louis, and I playing music. I put out a plate of moon pies for snacks. We were still listening to music, and it was getting late, but I was fading, so I bid my adieus.

Gator, Louis, and Angus kept playing songs longer, and I stepped outside and disappeared behind the moon.
